Course (One Day)

Case, Using Brochures and Handouts (English/Spanish), Leaving
the Scene, follow-up.

Material Included
- Laminated pocket guide
- Basic course manual with reference materials
regarding additional subjects such as: suicide, homicide, accidental
death, dying, line of duty death, DNR, working with children,
elders, stress.
Course Objectives
- Students will learn the basic Standard
of Care.
- Students will learn how to provide sensitive
death acknowledgement/announcement
- Students will learn the basics of cultural
competency.
Train
the Trainer's Course (Two Days)
Key topics of TTT Course
- Teaching the Standard of Care
- Supportive research
- Classroom topics - "the nuts and
bolts"
- Importance of leaving brochures (English
and Spanish) with family, printed with agency logo/information
- Limits to classroom presentations
Materials Included
- Train the Trainer's Manual
- Reproducible brochures/handouts (English
and Spanish) to be given to on-scene family regarding grief,
funeral practices and , if a coroner's case, coroner information.
These brochures can be modified.
- View graphs in PowerPoint for presentations
from one hour to multiple hours
Course Objectives
- Students will learn research information
regarding acute grief and how we interact with people.
- Students will be able to go back to their
agency and teach a fundamental class.
- Students will know how to modify brochures
and handouts to fit their geographic area.
TTT students
first attend the basic course (included in cost) and will receive
all the basic course materials and training as stated above. On
the second day, participants will receive a TTT manual
and access to reproducible brochures and handouts regarding grief,
funeral information and coroner law, plus a PowerPoint presentation
that covers the basics for the class.
